Trends for Baby Showers
Whether planning a baby shower for yourself or somebody else, there are a lot of little factors to account for. What kind of color theme will the shower have? Which desert should be served? What should the invitations look like? These are just some of the thoughts that might run through your head when planning a shower. But luckily, this is all made easier when you have a good idea on what the recent baby shower trends are. So let’s take a quick look at a few recent trends that you should keep in mind.
Gender Reveal Cake
Still have friends and family who don’t know the gender of the baby yet? How about letting them know through a cake that’s colored with either blue or pink icing in the middle. This not only gives you a colorful cake, but it also makes the desert even sweeter when your big surprise is revealed. If you really want to get party crazy, you could even throw a separate gender reveal party and have a cake for this too.
Pastel Colors
Look at baby shower stuff on Pinterest and you’re bound to see plenty of pastel colors as you scroll down the list. You can’t go wrong with muted blue, yellow and/or pink colors when decorating a shower. So rather than going bold, opt for the soft and soothing pastels for your next baby shower.
Cocktails in a Baby Bottle
If you’re going to have alcohol at your shower, then you’ll add even more fun by serving the drinks in a baby bottle. Of course, it’s nice to dress up the bottles a bit with a ribbon around the top and/or cute multi-colored straws. Even if you don’t have big drinkers at your shower, you can serve non-alcoholic beverages out of the baby bottles too.
Diaper Invitations
Why not spruce up your invitations more than just sending standard envelopes? Diaper invitations are the perfect way to invite your guests and also give them a little chuckle when they receive their letter.
Co-Ed Baby Showers
This is a broader topic than what we’ve discussed so far, but more and more women are getting the guys involved with co-ed showers. Sometimes called Jack & Jill showers, these can be a fun, low-key event where everybody has a few cocktails/beers and some burgers before handing out gifts to the mom/dad. You can even have a bigger baby shower beforehand, followed by one of these co-ed showers afterward.
Stick with some of all of the ideas that we've discussed above, and you should throw a baby shower that's both trendy and fun for everybody.
